Are you able to get a second opinion with another vet...preferrably with an eye specialist? That would be my suggestion if you have doubt about the first vet's diagnosis.
If your dog is in pain...and removing the eye will relieve the pain...then that is what I would do with no hesitation, if it were my dog.
If this helps any, I've seen a number of dogs who, for one reason or another, had to have an eye removed...including my former employer's dog, a Lab. In every case, the dogs did just great and had no problems whatsoever living with one eye. Their owners, including my former boss (a Vet) suffered and anguished far more than the dogs ever did. Animals adapt SO well to things that we humans would struggle with.

A huge ditto. I have owned one and I know a few, and I do not see them having any problem with it. I would absolutely get another opinion if you are not sure of your vet, and then I would do whatever it takes to rid the dog of pain.
Dear All, I have taken a second opinion, but unfortunately we do not have eye specialists in veterinary here in India. The Vet is specialist in medicine and has treated rocky, the pain and swelling is subsided, I apreciate your inputs I will wait a nother week before taking the final call for eye surgery.
Regards
Ivan
I don't know how helpful this will be. If your country doesn't have a veterinarian who specializes in ophthalmology or optometry, then have you tried to ask your local ophthalmologist or optometrist for an opinion. They might not be expert in veterinary medicine, but they are supposed to know a lot about eyes.
Hope it helps.
