... I don't know what I had in mind, but I didn't know OK had all that scenery.
Of course it does.
"Ooook-lahoma, where the wind comes sweepin' down the plain
And the wavin' wheat can sure smell sweet
When the wind comes right behind the rain.
Ooookk-lahoma, ev'ry night my honey lamb and I
Sit alone and talk
and watch a hawk
Makin' lazy circles in the sky."
It was really neat, and a part of our state I have always wanted to go to. Where we live it is more like Arkansas, much greener and lots and lots of trees, no cactus!
It wasn't Northern states cold, but 34 degrees with 30 mile an hour winds and nothing to block it was cold enough for me!!!
Here are some random oklahoma ecology facts (our state needs some PR because it is really beautiful)
We have more shoreline than the gulf and atlantic coasts combined.
We have 11 distinct eco-regions, the most per square mile of any state and one of only 4 states with more than 10
We have the oldest and largest national forest in the country
We have a salt plains and flats
We have 4 distinct mountain ranges and everything from dessert to lowland swamps.
