On a local pubic web forum in my town, there is post about someone buying a dog at the local flea market. There are a lot of pets for sale usually in the summer there and this one is called 'The Dog House'.
The poster said he bought a dog there a few weeks ago and within 2-3 days the dog was sick and died at the vets.
He went back and they wouldn't give his money back but would only give him another dog. He took it straight to the vet and it also has parvo. He is asking where to report parvo as all these dogs will be in danger and also other animals that come there (people walk their dogs on leashes at the flea market) and are sold there.
I don't know where or to whom to report this. I suggested the health dept and to call the vet.
Thanks. I think someone already suggested that and there was a comment that the dog pound didn't do anything but pick up strays. They keep them 2 weeks and then shoot them. Another problem with a small town. Very little funding and workers there are almost always hired by a local politician to a family member. They got in trouble a couple of years ago for throwing the dead dogs into the land fill, they were hauling them in the back of a pick up truck with no tarp.

That's sick!!! Those poor dogs.
I think the departmnt of health would only care if it was a disease transmitted to humans.
Those puppies came from a puppy mill. Puppy mills mainly sell dogs via retail pet stores and flea markets. It is buyer beware when buying a puppy mill dog. I think that mills should be eradicated an the only way to do this is to get people to STOP BUYING MILL PUPPIES. If there is a market for them, they will continue to breed and supply sick and mistreated pets.
OK enough ranting. I think you should call the newspaper and the news (radio or TV). People need to know about the sick parvo puppies because their pets will be at risk, and also about the dangers of buying puppy mill dogs. Again, those poor dogs.
Maybe Connie feels strongly about Air Conditioning.
Or A.C. Slater off "Saved by the Bell".
Ya' never know.
Sorry to divert this thread for a sec, but that just made my morning.
Dang, thanks for the chuckle Michael. I won't even ask why Saved by the Bell references are so quick to come to your mind...
