i watch the show usually anyway.
and if this is doing anything for me, it's making me NOT want to watch.
I will be honest, I didn't watch the whole episode this time because I couldn't stand the whining...lol.
I usually feel sorry for the husband, but this time i couldn't handle him either!@!!!

I'd say the puppy stunts on this show have so far paid for them selves ten times over in publicity dollars - Let's remember, the purpose of most televised programing these days has nothing to do with setting good standards for the American public to follow, it's about getting ratings, ergo advertising dollars -
And probably helped pay for their large, new home.

My boyfriend has the same reaction to most reality shows - he can take about 2 minutes before he's just furious with everyone. I admit, I occasionally enjoy a good train wreck as much as the next guy (with great guilt of course), but what I find much more watchable are shows like Super Nanny and the Biggest Loser, where people in bad situations (of their own creation) are pretty much slapped out it and forced into a more healthy and sustainable reality. Of course that could all be considered my very subjective opinion but turning lives around (even when edited into THE most dramatic 30 minutes possible) is far more interesting than just being a voyeur into the lives of people I will never have anything in common with. Ahhhh, primetime.
Sorry Keleah, I didn't know. Sometimes I can't catch every post because so many are posted. So this topic has already been worked over. The end. lol
No, it's perfectly fine! I like that I'm not the only one who watches the show and thinks it's dumb they got not one but TWO puppies while all their kids are under the age of 9.
maybe one of the mod's can merge the two threads together???
i just wanted to say i watched the episode and was infuriated with Jon's comments about why he wasn't going to stop the pup from running around and jumping EVEN THOUGH SHE JUST CAME OUT OF SURGERY!!!!
He said the he wasn't going to bother trying to keep her quiet and that she was an outside dog and he couldn't stop her from jumping around. And they proceed to show this pup racing around the back yard with the other pup jumping & rolling around with brand new stitches.
His answer was "yeah right, how can I stop her from doing that!"
uhhh....crate her and keep her seperated from the other pup. At least for a few days.
im not impressed
I thought that was crap too! I couldn't believe that he'd allow that. The vet will be getting alot of money from them in years to come-between the dogs eating toys and getting infections and tears from where the toy was removed!
I have watched the show sometimes *guilty pleasure* since I would categorize it as *crap tv*. I think the kids are ADORABLE, but the wife CONSTANTLY belittles the husband. I watched an episode where they took all 8 kids to a toystore and she screamed at him and treated him like a dog. He confronted her and she thought nothing of it.
It seems like they have a LOT of issues, and the mom is probably having her own issues with her kids growing up and not needing her as much. Puppies are the *perfect* solution to this. :scowl: . They won't end up in a shelter since they're Jon and Kate's reject dogs, but I DOUBT they'll stay with them forever.
