The two companies I was looking at are Nordic Naturals (which I use myself, the Ultimate Omega capsules) and Carlson. The Carlson seems to be cheaper than the Nordic Naturals.
Yes I am going to use the fish oil and not liver oil, thank you for clarification.
Also, I mistakenly put 1600 mg fish oil when it is 1600 mg omega 3 per teaspoon. So with a teaspoon being approx. 4.75 grams of fish oil, I would give a little over two teaspoons.
I will be comparing the prices again when I go to the store. I love the NN. I have tried numerous brands and never have any problems with theirs. A lot of problems from fish oil, i.e. burping up fishy flavor, is due to the oil being rancid. Rancid oil=toxic in the body. I never have these problems with NN and think my dogs deserve the best as well.
Thanks for the clarification Yuko I got lost in the mg's, the gr's, the iu's, the cc's, the ounces. Whew!
And I feel much better now Mike, thank you for the right medicine!
I just won't be able to drive for awhile now.
Hey is it ok to just give three squirts from the bottle and throw a 400 whatever gel cap in?

Connie, do you give them additional vitamin e over the amount contained in the NN liquid which is 30 IU per teaspoon?
Thanks!
Oh yes. I definitely do. That vitamin E is there to protect the product in the bottle.
I even care that I give the E at the same meal. I really do believe that the E is very important to protect the fragile PUFAs as they are processed in the dog's body.
JMO.
E does not come in many dose-sizes. So I wouldn't even say "reduce it by the 30 IU in the product" because it really comes in only 100 IU (hard to find), 200 IU, 400 IU, and not much else in most stores.
