Thank you Joyce and Nora!
I guess what I need to know is if anyone knows of a calcium supplement to add to the ground meat or pre-ground bones I could purchase. I was having to soak the Innova in the egg or yogurt to soften it (when I was feeding wrong) and she still had a hard time chewing. I don't think she is up to bones right now.

That would not fix the problem of feeding kibble and raw in the same meal, though, right?
Have you considered THK, to which you can add a certain amount of raw or cooked meat (instructions on the package)? THK is not a kibble.
Or have you considered canned? Or pre-ground raw?

Since I have not been feeding my pup correctly, I decided to stop the kibble. I do not know what THK is. Can is out, I rather cook for her than do can. Pre-ground raw sounds good, is that available in stores? I am in Southern CA, we have a lot of pet stores out here.
Thanks for your help.

You can get higher quality food for dogs canned than kibbled. Just the nature of the two processes makes that true.
Even better, though, here's The Honest Kitchen (THK): http://leerburg.com/honestkitchen.htm
And I know that several members here feed pre-made raw and will provide links. There are several, but right at the moment Steve's is the only one I can think of.

THK is fine to add raw (or even cooked) meat to and has instructions on it for doing so without exceeding the limit for which the THK provides sufficient calcium.

Patrick y might consider "Innova Evo", it is very good, but beware it does run around $70.00 for a 40 lb bag, worse it, every penny of it...I feed two GSD and they are quite healthy!
I feed some Innova at each meal(twice/day) but add/rotate different items such as: raw chicken backs, once or twice a week an organic raw egg (with shell if your dog will eat it), another day they get canned fish (mackerel, salmon, tuna), turkey which I need to lightly cook the as that is how they prefer it (people quality purchased in bulk 40lb at a time). The food is high quality and keeps them interested, I would not want to eat the same every day either...
Good luck!

As long as the raw items are not fed in the same meal with the kibble..... as far apart as possible.
Tuna can be very high in heavy metals, but canned mackerel, sardines, and salmon are really handy, have the bones, and can often be found very cheap on an endcap in odd places like discount drugstores. I have seen all three for $1 a can, and then I grab them. I try to get no-salt-added.
One thing about kibble that is low in grain is that very often, less is fed than the kind that's loaded with corn, etc. So while the price can look very high, it's good to really do the arithmetic, using "per-serving" rather than "per-bag."

Agreed Connie, several really good points I forgot to articulate better on; here is one more, it is highly recommended to wash the dog dishes thoroughly after each meal to assure against any kind of contamination, and change the fresh water several times a day, especially after they drink post eating raw food.
