Please say prayers and put some good vibes out into the universe for Richard, who's currently being held hostage off the coast of Somalia by Somalian pirates.
He is my ex's (the one I breed Dobes with) brother in law and I think a lot of this family. My heart goes out to them and I'm so worried:-(
Kristel, Captain Phillips has been in my thoughts - whenever my fellow Vermonters end up in the news, I take special notice. But I am most certainly sending hopeful vibes his way so that this whole affair will end quickly and safely. I heard this morning about his failed attempt to jump overboard and escape and it just made me cringe with fear for him... your family connection must make this even more terrifying.
I too will keep him in my thoughts and have already been sending positive vibes his way. It is astounding to me that we are being held at bay by four men in a raft whose engine has run out of gas... I certainly would have handled things differently.
Capt. Phillips sounds like a brave man with a lot of honor and gumption - all good qualities for this bizarre situation.
It IS a bizarre situation. The waiting and time are taking their toll on the family. Fortunately Richard is a very laid back, stoic type of guy which has probably increased his chances of surviving this unharmed.
I wish this stand-off would just end, with Richard safely on his way home.
