I have twice had to call the folks who come to my house to house- and dog-sit when I go to the East Coast, and have had them drop by to do walks and potty. I was more broken-boned than sick, but the results were similar.
I am sorry to hear you are sick I do hope you recover soon.
My 'plan' is to have the dogsitter (a friend of mine who I trust with the dog) come and walk him.
Maybe you could set alarms to wake you up when you fall asleep. Maybe start a schedule with 6 hr shifts of sleeping for you and crate time for them. While it is a big change to their schedule, dogs are adaptable (even old ones ).
Thanks. I don't know if we have dog walkers. Need to check.
My main concern was no one can catch Hambone but me or my daughter. Everyone else he will come up to (if he is in the house) but will run away if they try to restrain him. Outside, no one but my daughter or me.
And, Miss Lucy, right now, is handled only by me or Hanna. Mostly me.
So, I need to train Hambone to allow someone else to "catch" him and as for Miss Lucy, hope training sets in. She will go to family now for a "scratch" on her pointy noggin, but then walks away, flops on the floor, and snores...it takes a lot out of her...
Feeling somewhat better(relative to yesterday). The best news was Hanna and I staggered the days we became ill so at my worst she wasn't so someone fed and walked.
