i have been reading this forum for a while and i have bought most of the dvd's , my pup is 18 weeks i am not sure where we should be . We work on the sit the down with treats no corrections a few times a day same with playing tug , fetch and the come command i guess my question is around what age should i start with other things such as the heel and the stay
You can do whatever when you feel neccessary. Timeline doesn't mean much. You have 10+ years to enjoy your dog. Take your time unless your are training for sport. Do what feels comforable to you and your dog. Don't rush, if you want to start heel and stay go for it. Your dog will let you know where he is at as well.
You can start heeling, why not? It's the most fun with a puppy! Here's how i do it with a puppy, it's all motivational and just plain fun for the puppy, i "help" them into position when they're learning, the tugging is gentle and fun too, distractions come with the territory so............ KC is about your dogs age in this video, he's turned out awesome, so start your puppy learning and have fun!
