The puppy bladder can only hold so much for so long, and beyond that dogs do need to stretch their legs, just like wee do after being confined (think of a really long car trip for you, would you want to stretch your legs after a few hours in a car?) I'm no expert, that's just what I did for my "beasts".. er, dogs. Keleah

Why the double-size crate during the day? Is it so large that he can pee in one corner and still lie down in a dry spot on the other side? If so, I'd call it too big. I crate my dogs some nights (rotating who gets to be out in the house) and they're in theirs for roughly 9 hours without accidents. Keleah
