Doreen Macleod Webboard User Reg: 05-15-2009 Posts: 14 Loc: Offline	Just wondering here what you guys look for in a trainer? If this is in the wrong place I apologize. For me I finally found a trainer. He is a CKC judge, raises English Springer Spaniels and has titled his dogs in Confimation, Agility and I think Rally O. I'm very happy with his methods and his style of teaching and the fact that I can go to his place and practice I googled his name before committing to lessons and was happy from what I saw. I see so many of these new trainers or trainers out there that have never shown a dog, never done any dog sports or put any obedience titles on their dogs. Maybe it's just me but I figure if you can train your own dogs so that they can obtain titles in any of those dog sports, then there's a decent chance you could be a halfway decent trainer to other people's dogs.

But, having gone through bad trainers (recommended by both local SchH club), and having found a GREAT trainer (by going out to watch dogs from a certain breeder train) what I would also suggest people do is spend time watching the trainer work.
