The thick woods antler hunt was a big no go.

For one. I just couldn't keep up and video. I'll have to work that out. Maybe put the camera with the shed so you can see him coming, er sumpthin'.

Worst of all, the wind did a 180 from yesterday. That ran us out of property, and we couldn't set up downwind.

It was a tough one, and he didn't find it. Still made for good practice and he was still trying when I called him off.

Sooooo. The only good options for video were in the wide open.

It was my yard, so it was familiar territory, but I had a big pile of wood that I haven't used for hiding yet. What better time to use it than now, right.

In the first hunt I started him on the upwind side of the property to see what he would do. I was surprised that he immediately went to the down wind side of the property. Didn't think he was that smart and I thought it would make for a little more vid of him working. I really thought it would be tougher, but he got lucky and ran into scent right off the bat.

I think you should be able to see well on the video when he came into scent. Still, he wasn't that far away from the source so nothing major to see.

On the second hunt I hid it in the wood pile again, but instead started him on the wood pile.

As you can see, I really need to work on an alert.

Anyway, no fireworks. Just Turbo playin' in the yard.:smile:

The couple that he's found on "real" hunts were on a friends property so he got them.

Thats the part that sucks. I only have twenty acres. That can be thoroughly searched in a long weekend.
