I am a currently a police officer and a k9 decoy for a medium sized police department. For all the decoys out there, has anyone used the neoprene sleeve under the bite suit? I am 5'11" but skinny 145 lbs and although I think the bruises are really cool, they can be painful too. I have decoyed in the past and understand the hazards of the job, but now I am decoying for approximately 10-12 dogs during an 8 hour training session. Thank you in advance for the opinions.
They really can help cushion the pressure. You'll still feel it and on occasion bruise. None the less, it's considerably more comfortable with those really hard biters.

Thank you David. Even though it is tax-deductable, I like to make informed decisions. And there is always something with dog training that I could use!
I certainly try to use anything I can to make it more comfortable. Well, actually what I use now are 20 somethings, ha ha. The years have taken their toll on the shoulders, knees, elbows and wrists.

I would agree about the neop sleeve but i have used it more for being able to slip a bite not for padding. But I am also what you call uhhh... big boned yeah big boned.. I have used hidden sleeves under the suit if your not "big boned". However if you are big boned you may not fit. The nepoprene should help in slipping out of the bite.
Hi Heather. I have been a agitator and police K9 handler for about 13 years now and I swear by the neoprene gauntlet. All though they don't eliminate all of the pinching and bruising, they work very well with reducing them. You can find them at just about every K9 company and they usually sell for around $30. Good luck
