I built a practice blind today and although I have the frame up (and yes I know it is not regulation size), I'm not quite sure what to use for the cover? It's a fairly stable set up and is able to be staked down. It is a little over 6 feet tall and about 7 feet from corner to corner at the base. I haven't been able to find anything about blind fabric online. Thanks in advance.
Steve, you didn't have an issue with the blue tarp catching too much wind? I was hoping to find something breathable but not entirely see through for obvious reasons. Still, a tarp is a reasonable both functionally and economically.
Actually Sarah, now our neighbors can see in the front windows but Andy learned to run the blinds. Anything you use will act like a sail Emily, even mesh that you can see through.
I used 3 wooden poles fastened together by drilling holes thru them a few inches from the top. I connected & covered the poles with a blue plastic tarp with eyelets & strung the cord thru the eyelets & holes in the tops of the poles. Like a teepee. It
was about 5 ft high. I taught 2 of my dogs the blind search using this style blind in my back yard. In fact one is still sitting rolled up over under the overhang of my deck. I made 2 of them to use. Simple, cheap & it works. Dogs don't need big fancy blinds to learn the search. They just need to learn the pattern of how to run around them & peak inside while doing so. My dogs were easily albe to make the transfer to full size blinds & 6 of them on a SchH field without any issues except to learn to cover the larger distance between the blinds on a large field.
