So the consensus is to put the crate all the way in the back NOT fit it in the rear seating space where the dog is closer.
Does anyone use bungee cords to secure the crate or just place it in the back and if it happens to slide around a little no biggie?
Rich - yes for a Dobe I would need a 500 as an adult. We have a 500 in the house and he damn near fills it out now. LOL and to think he's just 6 months old.
Yes, I would say to put the crate in the cargo area. I just don't like the idea of the dog riding on top of the rear/middle seat. Best to have in cargo, and open hatch to let dog out. Simple and easy. When I had my 4Runner, the crate was pretty snug between seat and rear hatch door. In my Tahoe, it's a little more loose, but does not slide around much either.
