Seems like I may have to begin baiting water. Kaiser will completely skip drinking any water during some meals. I'm thinking he should be drinking at least a little more than he is.
He pees fine - multi times per day. I'm sure he's getting plenty of fluids from his diet - just not from his water bowl.
So, the question is - how does one make baited water?
Get sodium free chicken broth and put it in the water to give it a different flavor? Swish a piece of beef around in the water for a little while?

Oh, and yes, what you said, in case you ever need baited water.
Since you would likely also be poaching something for the sick dog, you could save that water and cool it to room temp (best for rapid absorption, for dehydration).
I'm with Connie. Unless the dog is dehydrated, I don’t worry about it. Raw food has so much in it that mine hardly ever drink. Roxy wouldn't drink when she was sick, so she got baited water offered to her four times a day (she would not eat either...)
With that said, I will take a chicken breast and boil it in water. For Quinn, who is very active, I would boil a chopped up quarter to get extra fat. You can try different types of meat and boil for different lengths of time to adjust the flavor. I have also put the dipping juice from the chicken or beef in water, as well as soaked a liver in water (Rox's favorite before she passed, got her to drink every time...). All will work, and all are natural with no additives. The lower the water concentration, the yummier it is!
Also, using Honest Kitchen allows you to add more water by making it soupier. They also have Ice Pups that are really neat for the dogs to eat. They too have a higher water content.
If you had a sick dog, this stuff could be made very thin for flavor or even a little thicker as he started to need food, because it's made out of meat.
