they stand up whenever she perks them up, they don't naturally stand like a GSD. They are usually some half-way stand-flop. The first two pics are me trying to get her attention and she's perked up. The last pic is her pretty much normal stance. Which ear flops over I think changes from time to time.
I've been furminating her every four or five days. Yesterday's bath is the second she's had since being with me. Today her coat looks really great: shiny, lays nicely, bounces as she runs. Almost makes me want to bathe her more often. However, her coat is really weather resistant and I don't think she needs much bathing; just regular brushing. The wife was complaining about "dog smell" and we've got a young married couple from church house sitting next week while we're out of town. Also I was procrastinating some other work I should have been doing and looking for other chores to do.
Anyway, she really is a great dog and I'm really proud of her!
Doug, with her coat it's hard to tell, but showing/feeling a bit of rib is what you want. Are her hip bones really prominent and bony? If not, then she looks good...
I have a friend that lives in the neighborhood that has an Aussie that's three or four months older than Suzzie. It's my friend's second Aussie. Saw her this morning on my walk and she commented on how nice and "muscular" Suzzie looked. I felt like it was a good compliment and validates my feeding/exercise routine.
