I just wanted to drop in and say thank you to both of you, Connie and Michael. My pup has had regular, solid poop immediately after we stopped giving her the supplements. (I didn't know that about Vitamin C! I thought it was discharged in the urine.)
I started giving her a little more skin yesterday and her poops are still solid and formed. Over the next couple of days I'm going to increase the amount being fed and then, in a week or so, start adding the supplements in smaller dosages one by one.
Again, thank you for your advice, I really appreciate it.
The vitamin C that the body doesn't use IS discharged through the urine. Its when there is a large excess, like what your pup had, that it can cause diarrhea.
Are you pretty close to the amount of food that she should be getting?
Do just like you said, smaller dosages one by one, with the supplements and any new foods and you'll do just fine.
Adding ingredients slowly and one at a time will let you see what the trigger is, should she have another problem.
