Yes Sheila, I like your answer. I think that is also what is causing some stress/conflict for me is that I would really like to resolve the situation but I think she needs more time to develop on her own, have fun, and learn. I am not sure how Cindy does it with young pups, i.e. using the collar for avoiding chasing cats and other farm animals, and then integrating it as an obedience tool later on....and the use of the collar would effect her starting off in that way. They say they have many many years using the collar in this way and it does really work effectively. My dog is also very bold, so any training I do with her I am going to have to proof the heck out of.
