That is excellent. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but when were Boxers discriminated against? I've heard of GSD, Dobes, and Rotties being the breed du jour to villainize, but Boxers?
What do you think about free Pit Bull training classes offered by some trainers? Good idea, right? When people take pride in their dog and realize they're not "just animals" they can work and bond, are less likely to get into illegal things like fighting dogs.
I've heard some trainers say they believe there should be mandatory training instated for all Pit Bull owners, but it leads to so many questions- like what constitutes "training" and who are the trainers getting business from it? I myself tend to believe the less legislation the better, and best to focus on education and enforcing existing humane laws.
Every time I see a news headline of a Pit involved in an attack my heart just sinks! It's terrible things like that fuel the fire, there was just one this month in Leesburg VA, very sad, fatal attack.

Thanks for the link. Unfortunately in Switzerland we have the situation where Pits, Am Staffs, Cane Corso, Rottweiler and a few more are banned. The Italian speaking part even lists shepherds as dangerous dogs :-(
Scientists proofed politicians and media wrong, there is no dangerous breed. But in Switzerland gossipy media rules politicians and it is so much easier to go after a small group with no real lobby than after Switzerland high bank fraud.

Boxers fall into a lump ban on pit bulls and pit bull types two ways.
1) They share many characteristics often stated as pit characteristics, especially head and jaw type.
2) They are related to bulldogs, as are other breeds identified as pit bulls.
But regardless of those reasons, many breeds have fallen under BSL. I have seen some breeds in BSL who are often identified as gentle giants such as Great Danes and Newfoundlands. Many breeds in the working groups of KCs. Many herding breeds. Many spitz breeds. Basically almost any breed at least of medium size, might be listed under some communities BSL.

It is a scary thing.
The dog in my signature pick is confused for a flop eared doberman almost every time we take him out.
There have been more than a few times that people have told me I had a dangerous dog, that I should have him no where near children and one lady even screamed and ran across the street from us.
Despite the fact that he has not a drop of doberman or even anything close to it in him, he is seriously the kindest and most gentle dog I can imagine there being.

What an intersting mix. I've known Treeing Walker Hounds and Black and Tan Coonhounds personally, but have only seen pictures of the Black Mouth Cur. Lazyness is a characteristic of many coonhounds and walkers, unless they are on a trail; so I wouldn't be surprised.
