Have you looked for a Schutzhund Club in your area? The breedwarden for many of these clubs do ear tattoos. My pup has an ear tattoo done by a breedwarden and a microchip from a vet.
Also a local working dog breeder or trainer can probably help you get him tattooed.
Your pup sounds like a lot of dog and a Schutzhund club might be a great resource for successful work for him.
Unfortunately, I think that I was pretty much the tattoo guy for Ray's area ( I was tattooing puppies as far north as Atlanta and as far south as Gainesville, Florida........not many people around that tattoo other people's dogs nowadays.
However, for those dog people in the Northern Idaho area....you've got a trained tattoo fella now!
