I am looking into trying to do the AD in April and have my daughters bike which is a Schwinn mountain bike. It is not really comfortable so I am seeing what everyone else has. thanks for your input. I have a generic mountain/street bike from WalMart (doesn't really fit in any category except cheap and generic). It works great for my bike rides with the kids and with the dog. A guy from the club uses a portable bike that folds in half... Use what ever works for you! Jessica

Edit: oh crap, senior moment. 20k in 2 hrs. I would expect bike type/surface type meshing to not matter that much at that speed. Eeesh I'm getting senile. But still, you will probably have an easier ride if you have a bike built for the surface. Or go w/surface appropriate tires as well. Edit again to complain that they don't let you run the AD w/your dog. Boo. Teagan!
