ok our 6 almost 7 weeek old puppies had some pudding diarrea this morning, not sure if maybe we need to change their diet now. We've been blending hard puppy food into water making it easy for them. At this age should we go to strictly hard food, or is there another recommendation for this, I just know diarrea is not good. They are well hydrated and drinking tons of water so thats good but the sudden diarrea concerns us, any insight would be great.
Thanks for all your help here on the forum, youve all been very helpful.
Have they been wormed?
Hookworm can be passed to pups through the placenta and through mother's milk...
(not sure what age is best to worm though; puppy people?)
we just dewormed them again 2 days ago - could the deworming cause this? the first day after deworming there was allot of worms in their stool, but none now just the diarrea
If they had worms, their little systems are probably adjusting (detoxing).
If they are active, bright, and eating and drinking well, I'd wait another day. If they still have diarrhea that doesn't seem to be clearing up, or if they get lethargic, stop eating or anything else, I'd call a vet.
If there is any question in your mind - call a vet.
