This brings back some funny, but bitter sweet memories. Our son Adam lost his hearing at about 1 1/2 due to medication for a potentially fatal infection. (Adam was born with SCID - Severe Combined Immune Dificiency aka "the boy in the bubble" disease). Needless to say, it was extremely devestating when we learned of Adam's hearing loss. My family, in thier own sick way of trying to keep us smiling through the rough times, presented us with a nerf ball gun with foam darts - so that we could "get Adam's attention" from across the room. It was never used for that purpose, but we did have a lot of fun with that silly gun. THANK GOD they didn't know about e-collars!! LOL!
