Today i had a chat with the president of the NVBK we decided to look into the possibilities to organize an international trail.
In the backyard of lots of members from this forum.
If we get enough people interested the trail will be held in the Dominican Republic somewhere October/November 2010. Still time to get your dog ready
It will, most likely be combined with a seminar and a certification test.
So if interested let me know, stop reading this and start training your dog.
We're looking for participants from different countries.
If this succeeds, one day in the future, the participants may say to their fellow trainers that you were at the trail that was the precursor of the NVBK international trails
In a few weeks time i'll be relocating there and a week later another Belgian + there is already a Belgian who trains French ring.
So basically we have the experience and a few dogs there.
And i'm in close contact with germain in order to get Belgian judges, decoys and who knows dogs over. So Think of it
A a seminar
B a certification
C a Trail
in paradise with
Rum
Cigars (Although i don't smoke i've an inside source in the ministry of tabacco so the best once are available)
Beautiful women and men (the latter not for me)
Great music
If you're living up north it is the best excuse to flee from the bad weather
The couple of time I visited and looked into dog sport (not too thoroughly, I was on vacation) I found nothing. Didn't think there was much on the island dog sport wise. Figured there would be more of a draw where there was an existing club and staying mainland is easier for most to work out for either competition or observation. Much less cost prohibitive...
I hope it works out, it would be great to get some more ring going out on this side of the ocean.
Weather is great here BTW. Sunny and warm, beaches galore and lots of beautiful people. No need to escape at all!
Update
As it stands the minimum number of dogs needed for a trail will be met, even the Belgian Minimum which is double of the "foreign"minimum will be surpassed.
It will be a first for a number of these dogs so don't hesitate and start training.
