Every now and then I catch Max chewing his back leg. He sort of puts his whole knee into his mouth and chews it with his back teeth. He doesn't do any damage that I can find and when I touch it his leg doesn't seem to be sore. I can't be sure it's always the same leg because it's so infrequent. But the other night he seemed be really intent on chewing it, even chasing it round to try to get it.
Should I be worried about it? Maybe get some xrays done? Would he chew on it if there was a problem with the leg bones?

Edit reason: more detail
Maybe look over his whole rear area. Sometimes I think they get an itch in a spot they cant reach so they go after a different spot out of frustration.
