This weekend was one of the first weekends in over a month that I was able to hang out and do things with my dogs. This pretty much turned into Frost's weekend but the others did not complain too much as I got a bunch of raw bones for them to chew on this weekend :-)
Frost and I started off at the local farmer's market to get the bones and other good stuff. It is great environmental training with thousands of people including dogs and kids teeming around. Frost is an old hat at the farmer's market but I was proud of her as she had never been around wheelchairs and we ran into a guy in a wheelchair that apparently loves ACDs. She just climbed up on his lap to say hi :-)
Later yesterday we went kayaking and swimming and today was training. She is finally striking and gripping well (Thanks to Michael Ellis' help!) so we will probably be moving her back to the sleeve in the next few weeks. Today, among other things, we were working on getting her to sit for the hold and bark instead of downing while barking. It is slow going but we will get there eventually. All in all, considering the heat (90's), and us not having been at training in a month, I was pleased with her work :-)
A short video with photos and video of Frost's weekend:
And I do not know if I showed this photo or not but here is her win photo from the breed ring. While I know most here don't hold much for the conformation ring, I am proud of when my working dogs do well in it :-)
