I've got a couple other questions.
Is it possible this is environmental? Is there anything outside she could be walking in? Is your lawn irrigated? What kind of temperatures are you dealing with?
Reason I ask is that I've seen some horrible stains arise from peat based lawns that are irrigated. These stains often appear the same as lick stains. They also smell terrible.

I don't think it is. My other dog doesn't seem to have the issues, although he has black paws its hard to tell the color but they don't smell.
In my area (which is Chris' area), the grass is growing some sort of seasonal orange mold or something.
It's all over MY shoes.
It's like finely powered rust.

I know exactly what your talking about Steven and yes that is correct a rusty colored powder which I have no idea what it is. But it isn't just from that it is on the insides between her toes.
