Tomorrow from 8:30am-1pm, I'll be at the vet's office for a second interview (see how things go and watch them do surgeries, see how busy it gets). See how much I enjoy it and hopefully it will be it and I'll start working there!
YAY!! I'm excited and nervous now. Thankfully I was able to find someone to watch Kayde on such short notice, the vet only called this afternoon.
I hope that your working interview went well. I have been trying to hold myself back from bugging you every day to see whether or not you got the job or not. My fingers are crossed for you and I hope you succeed. Keep us posted.
The working interview went really well today! Didn't do a whole lot. Stood and watched, asked questions, got to see how they work and how busy it can be at times. I got to be on wasp patrol-there were wasps getting in through the windows, don't know how, but I kept watch and had the swatter in hand ready to get 'em! lol And I offered to help out moving the light around and getting stuff for them, which showed that I wasn't affraid to jump in.
I got to watch two dogs get their teeth cleaned and both needed tooth extreactions. Watched as the vet performed a spay on a cat. Didn't get queasy or anything I have a pretty high tolerance for stuff that's gross to some.
The vet said she has a couple of other people coming in next week to do the same thing, and that I should be hearing from her the week after that.
The daycare I found for Kayde was also very good. Kayde did really well and had a good day. Thankfully the babysitter kept her awake until I got ther-then baby can take a nap and mommy can too
I really, really hope I get the job, I got along pretty well with the vet and her tech today, which is a good thing. I will admit there were a few times where I was watching them do something and I would worry about the animal, but I knew they were just fine and in good hands-had to take my mind away from any worries and think about what the vet and her tech were doing.
Well, found out yesterday that I didn't get the job. The vet called me just after 9am, said that it was between me and one other person and it was a really tough decision for her. She said she'd keep my resume on file and if anything else opened up at the office that I'd be the first one she'd call.
Here's to hoping the new person doesn't work out, hate to say it but I hope it doesn't and she calls me for the job > Mean, I know, but I can only hope, right?
I have thought about contacting all five of the local salons and asking them some questions about the places and about employment there-until I can get an education in something else (I have an education in cosmetology and still have my license), might just have to see about going back into hair for a while. I also have thought about going to a few other places in town to see if I can find something-only thing is I won't be able to do weekends, because the daycares here don't do weekends and it wouldn't work with my hubby's schedule.
If anything, I'll be talking to the vet and finding out where she recommends doing online vet tech and getting that going regardless of where I find a job.
Keleah that is disappointing But on the bright side you have options. Something else to check out if the salons require a Saturday are Senior Communities. Many of them offer assorted services to their tenants and those hours tend to be more flexible.
Also while checking out the vet tech schools check out their requirements on accepting transfer credits. My best friend took several of her science courses at community college and then transferred into a nursing school. The cost difference was significant and I know the community colleges in MA now offer online classes too.
Goodluck and so you don't have to feel bad; I hope the other person who got the job hits the lottery and no longer needs to work and if that doesn't happen I hope you hit the lottery and can do whatever you like.
I hope it's ME that hits the lottery, then I won't have to worry about getting a job and then I can start school and get my dream going sooner! Riley did buy a lottery ticket and we're waiting on the draw for tonight to see if we won!
