OMG! I didn't have a back up for my crappy prong and decided to walk 2 of the 3 dogs without their prongs(kept the crappy prong on my newest rescue as the other two dogs did quite well without prongs last walk.)My daughter was walking my largest dog (5 lbs lighter thanks to raw diet 7 weeks so far) We were taking a shorter walk as I'm a bit under the weather but needed to walk the beasties. There were three dogs out who are never out when we take the shorter way. They were all barking at the fence and sure enough the prong snapped on my boxer mix. He charged the fence. The big black dog(Chief) pulled my daughter to the fence and it was all I could do to keep the pitt mix (usually dog aggressive) from the fence and get the boxer mix back over to me. I got the prong back on and dead ringed it, attached it to his canvas collar and reversed the leashes on the other two and we walked calmly back by. Luckily the neighbors were understanding. I mentioned that I had indeed heard I was supposed to use a backup on the prong but was in a hurry and blah blah blah. Dum@ss me! Their dogs were all former strays. They got them to quiet down and we walked by under control. For some reason I didn't want to go back home, I wanted to make them walk by under control. Mainly because then everyone would think I have two raging pitbulls (whoever sees the two with white always says they're pittys no matter what I say, short of carrying around DNA results.) I'm so thankful there was a fence and am hoping my dominant dog DVD and dominant dog collars are being shipped shortly. Chalk this up to a sinus infection and plain stupidity. Luck was with us Few!!!
