Animal control told my husband they bit a lady. No circumstances of how it happened. She allegedly says Deacon did it.
So animal control didn't get a statement from the lady, or they aren't telling you? Seems awfully odd (and bad police work, since many cities' animal control departments operate underneath the umbrella of the police department) that they didn't give you info on what led up to the bite. I would imagine most cities would require a report from the AC officer on any bite calls...might be something to follow up on with them. I'd personally want as many details from them as I could get (and a copy of the report and/or pictures if they exist) just in case the lady decides to take legal action.
Like everyone else has said, the first priority is getting the fence fixed and getting in contact with the lady, but it doesn't hurt to start collecting facts from other sources (and witnesses if there were any other witnesses).
