... If you set the food on the ground, leave the room, allow the dog to eat relaxed and in peace with no aggression shown, are they still food aggressive?
"If a tree falls in the forest ... "
Even if someone came back and said "I can't guarantee that situation ever single day every single meal forever and ever," I still come back with "This is how the dog learns that his food, given by me, is safe. You can certainly guarantee it for that long, and most of the time thereafter."
I don't know. This wrangle is one that has never made any sense to me. Any question about it at all? Feed the dog in the crate.
All JMO.
I think that the wealth of misinformation on the internet doesn't help this, either. I was wading in it, before I found Leerburg.
I remember as a kid, my Dad said, 'Don't bother the dog when he's eating.' Pretty simple...
I apologise! I totally did not mean to highjack this thread!
Maybe I mistyped how the process went along the other night, She had not yet started eating when all of this took place. I was attempting to get her food bowl down in front of her without her gowling.
Still, I see the error in my ways, and why what I did probably did absolutely no good.
I have been feeding her in her kennel since coming upon this site.
