I am so sorry for your loss, their lives are too short and so very precious.
I also will do everything in my power to let them sniff my girls body when it is time. When we lost our husky poor Loki spent days looking for him and then moping and even refusing to eat.
I agree - letting the other packs members see the body would be best. We lost our almost 14 year old GSD (Zorc) to cancer this last May. My heart aches for him every day. I am so very sorry for your loss.
Two of my German Shephers died (at different times) unexpectedly at home. The presence of the body made it much easier for the other dog and the 2 cats to accept.
Sorry to hear about this, and I hope your day goes peacefully.
On a side note...I saw on television, how when an ape died, they let the other apes go to the dead one, and they hugged him and cried over him. Everyone who has breathe has feelings.
All the best to everyone involved.
