Dolly (15 year old Cocker Spaniel) loves her THK, and while I am going to continue using it as a base for now, I'd like to add some RMBs. Since I'm new, I need your advice on how to do this
First, I was thinking to start with chicken necks. Good idea? Bad idea? Is there anywhere I can buy just a few... to make sure she'll eat them? I don't have a grinder, but I could probably get them ground at the market (right?) if she doesn't eat them. Should I get skinless, or with skin? Also, how long should I have her on only THK (with salmon oil and vit e) before adding in RMBs or other meat?
Do I ask too many questions?
Anyway, happy Thanksgiving to everyone! And thanks in advance!

I would get chicken backs (not big turkey backs) and peel off the skin and globs of fat for a few days while watching the poop.
I have no doubt that she will be thrilled to find one in the THK and even the texture and strangeness will not make her hesitate because of the familiar THK on it.
How long has she been getting all THK (none of the canned food from before)?

Will do with the backs. She's only been on THK by itself since Saturday. I was going to wait until this Sunday (or longer) before adding anything, but I thought I'd get on the ball with getting the RMBs now. I feel better when I'm prepared lol.

Oh that's an even better idea! I'm more worried about her being able to chew the bones. I bought her some chicken treats, they're just pure, dried organic chicken. They're really hard and crunchy but she loves them. I'm just not sure if they're bone hard haha.
Katie, you will probably find that 'chewing the bones' is not really what will happen. It's a couple of crunches, and then it's swallowed. Backs are very soft, as bones go...

That's not gonna happen with backs. Backs are very cartilage-y, so if she is chewing those dried chicken breast strips, then her teeth are just fine for chicken backs.
