I'm going to be spectating at an ASCA obedience trial this Saturday and was wondering if there are any real stylistic differences between it and AKC ob. The exercises seem to be the same. I'm also interested in the UKC, but it doesn't seem to have much of a presence around here.
ASCA obedience is not really different than AKC obedience with one glaring exception - sits and downs are done first. It always felt weird to do them first but I actually got to like it because it got them over with and I tend to obvious on the stay exercises :-) Have fun watching!

I know nothing about ASCA, but do a little about UKC. In UKC ob novice level, there is another dog in the ring doing stays while you do heels. Then on your stays, another dog will be doing heeling. There are also a group of moving milling people to heel through, instead of just a figure eight.
It is less about style, and more about reliability.

Yes I have seen those pages, Connie, and I've skimmed parts of them, but I probably won't have time to read and digest the entire rule book by this weekend.
Schutzhund obedience just looks so different it makes me wonder what else is out there, lol.
