I have found a rescue that is willing to let me foster despite the fact that Cicero is no longer being vaccinated (besides rabies of course). I am really excited about this opportunity! I was just wondering if there is anything I should be worried about medically. A friend mentioned that kennel cough is really contagious should vaccinate for this?
There are so many strains of KC that the vaccines don't cover. Not worth doing anyway, so why subject your dog to the vaccine. Besides, KC is basically the same as the common cold for people, very contagious, but not seriuous. JMO

I can't stress this enough. Unless they included a Brucellosis test keep your foster separated from your dogs. It's not just an STD and often times fosters come from mills where this disease spreads.
My general policy with groom clients and my very rare foster puppy or kitten is that they don't have any contact with my dogs at the house.

Brucellosis is generally spread rapidly among groups of dogs breeding rather indiscriminately so strays and puppymills are usually rats nests of infection. It is spread via fluids so it's possible to get this bacterial infection outside of sex from mucus, saliva, and fecal matter. Not every dog is symptomatic, and this disease can jump species into people.
Treatment is usually long courses of antibiotics which may or may not solve the problem. Normally vets of any integrity recommend euthanizing any infected dogs.
