(I posted this to the wrong thread and just realized it.)
By the way. Here are the SV amendments for coat that I mentioned in an earlier post.
3. Breeding Regulations
Amendment to 1. General, 2nd Para:
The Breeding Regulations of the SV serve the furthering/improvment of the planned breeding of the breed “German Sheherd Dog“ in the varieties “Stock Coat“ and “Long-Stock Coat with undercoat“ and regualtes the entire sphere of breeding activities. It is a part of the constitution and mandatory for all members of the Association. When required, breeding plans may be decided upon supplementary to the Breeding Regulations.
Supplement under 4. Breed Value and Breeding Prerequisites, insertion of a new paragraph 4.1:
The Breeding of the German Shepherd Dog is only permitted within the varieties of the coat type “Stock Coat“ and “Long-Stock Coat with undercoat“ . A mating of stock coated dogs with long stock coaed dogs with undercoat, is not permitted.
Amendments under 4.1.4. Dogs not permitted for breeding, Figure c, 8. subpoint.
- Dogs that have a long-stock coat without undercoat
I figure the SV HAD to open up to the long stock coated dogs with undercoats. To many out there and just not acknowleded.
Take a look at any of the SV dogs in todays mags (USA, WDA)
I'd be willing to bet that a number of those dogs are long stock coated dogs with undercoat. WAY more coat then what was seen yrs back.
Show dog folks can do wonders with a thinning shears and clippers.
Did I say that with my outloud voice?
