I have a 5 year old GSD-mix who's right ear is all of a sudden starting to go up more and more. I did try and tape them when he was younger, but I waited too long before I started, plus I gave up quick because he was a mixed-breed. But now all of a sudden his right ear is erect during walks and when he's alert (i.e. hears something outside, etc.). I think it's cute, but I am confused as to why it is happening now. Both of his ears have been floppy his whole life, with an occasional ear standing up once in a blue moon, but now his right ear is taking more of a liking to it I guess. Just thought it was bizarre and thought I'd share. Any similar stories out there?

Any chance of an ear infection? The floppy eared shepherd mix I had as a kid only had his ear stand when he got an ear infection which caused swelling on the ear base allowing that ear to stand up.
