We tried the boiled chicken and rice, we will not eat that at all. He is currently on Albon, and Metrinitzole. He is very active. and his stools are getting better, but not what they should be. We have had him to the vet 3 times and they can not find anything wrong. We have had 3 stool samples.

I have a 12 week old male GSD puppy that is not a good eater. .... I have a 11 month old female GSD that was a very good eater until we brought him home and now we are struggling with both of them.

Yes and yes they both have diarrhea? Does the 11-month-old have coccidia too?
(I do understand that you're worried, etc. but " We have had him to the vet and they can not find anything wrong with him" doesn't fit well with "Yes, the vet diagnosed coccidia," and "He is currently on Albon, and Metrinitzole." )
Well I guess I should explain. The stool samples have come up neg. but the vet put him on those medications becasue she said that sometimes this dose not show up in the fecal smears. The medications seams to be working with his poop, but he still is not eating very well. He dose eat a little at a time, he has not lost any weight but has not gained alot either. My 11 month old has started eating again for the last 3 days normal. Her poop is looking very good. The puppy will not eat very good out of a bowl, if you put it on the floor he eats more than if it is on a plate or a bowl. If you feed him out of your hand he will eat ok as well. But this is not something we want him to get use to. I was just wondering if there was something that we could or should be doing different.
As far as the not wanting to eat out of a bowl....feed him on a piece of newspaper on the floor for now. You can worry about the dish feeding a bit down the road. You don't know how he was fed at the breeders...He may not have been fed in a bowl or maybe he was lower in the pack order & ate the food that was dropped or pushed on the ground around the bowl by the higher pack order pups. Who knows. He is still settling in with you, he has only been there a couple of weeks. Give him some time. Just do what works for now to keep the weight on him. JMO

Sometimes puppies just get distracted and just don't want to eat when there is an opportunity to do something else. Don't take it personally, they have the attention span of gnats at this point. The harder you try the more PITA he's going to be about it.
My suggestion is get an 48" X pen. Put the puppy in it, put down the food and water bowl, and walk away, preferably out of the room. Pick up the food dish in an hour. Try again in regular intervals, using the same boring spot, the same boring location, and the same boring food bowl. You want the food to be the most interesting thing happening at that moment.
Thank you to everyone who responded to this post. It has been a couple of weeks now and I am happy to report that Bero is eating everything. I think the little guy just was not sure were he belonged in our pack. We experimented a little and tried to have him out and around our other dogs for the whole weekend and by Sunday he was on his way. He has gained weight like he should and is happy and healthy. Thanks again!!
