It's still in the planning stages but I'm hoping to host a trial this spring which will be preceeded by a week of fun training. I even have a firm maybe from Will on coming done for it.
OMG dennis, i remember when you FIRST posted that puppy pic! kinda makes me feel old.....
tom-you're doing all the right things as far as gathering info, keep it up. there is no better family breed than a GSD, IMO. if things go wrong with dogs in general, it's not the dog that's the problem, it's the owner.
you will want to be VERY clear with the family (and through them,with friends) as to what type of "play" is allowed with a pup/young dog-kids love to try to teach stuff like "shake" (NOT allowed with my dogs) and all kinds of other crap. in a way, this is good for the dog, but you do need to be on top of things at all times if for no other reason than liability. sad as that is....
get a well-bred GSD, raise it right, and you'll have the best dog in the world.
