Ask the beef guy if he can get beef heart. It's my favorite muscle meat for the dogs. Good ratio of fat-to-lean, and they are cheap! Even the worst cuts of skeletal muscle for beef (or pork) are twice as expensive.
Perfect! A restaraunt wholesale distributor is where I get most of my raw dog food. It is the cheapest way to go as long as you have the storage space. I just picked up 85 lbs of RMBs & gr turkey & beef yesterday. The only hard part is packaging it up in bags of 2-4 meals. It usually takes me about 1- 1 1/2 hours to package it. But the prices are worth it. The chicken necks or backs were $14 FOR 40 LBS (that's $.35 A LB) & 10lb logs of gr turkey @ $.85 lb. & 10 lb logs of gr beef for $1.65 lb.
I can get boxes of pork necks, turkey necks, gr lamb pretty much anything that I want to feed. It's great. We actually convinced the guy that favors us raw feeders & gives us great prices to finally feed raw to his dog. LOL
Linda, I think once you make the switch and see the results, you will never look back. I know you've seen how I take things pretty slowly (and get overwhelmed on a fairly regular basis) and I hope it's been a help to you. Congrats on the bulk meat find!!

Oh I'm so happy! Thanks Connie. And thanks to everyone else who helped too. I got (and continue to get) such incredible guidance here. I couldn't have done it without you all.
And you can too Linda! It's such a great thing to do for our dogs.
