Can you please recommend me a good book on behavioral problems?
I'm looking for something that specifies de reasons and provide good solutions for those problems. And i'm looking for something general covering lots of problems... Pulling on the leash, digging, jumping, barking, chassing the tail, etc. etc.
The objective is that any time a friend asks my opinion on any dog issue i have some kind of easy a fast way to give them a help.

There's usually not some 'fast easy' way! You have to be the pack leader. You have to daily train and exercise. Check out Ed's DVD's and articles, on this website, that have to do with being the pack leader.

There are several books I like, but when I come up with solutions for other people or talk dogs with other people a lot of what I suggest and talk about depends on their background and their dogs. For instance when talking narc dogs with my uncle who works in law enforcement,
assistance dogs with my cousin who does puppy raising, hunting labs with my uncles and brothers, the language, terminology, and mechanics tend to be a little different than when talking with my mom or my sister who have a hard time making their dog sit without a dog biscuit in hand.
What kind of dog owner is this? Pet, working, hunting? What kind of training do they do? what kind of dog management do they practice?
Jose,
It's more then just looking up some issue or another in a book.
While it's helpful to get what one may call guidance or a refresher from a written word, it's mostly just working with dogs.
Each dog is an individual, don't forget that. The differences between two very similar looking problems are very subtle but make all the difference in how they are approached.
As Melissa pointed out, there is no replacing a life time in the company of dogs.
If you want a written word on dog behavior, the causes and 'some' possible ways to deal, I feel you could do a lot worse then starting here at LB.
And then here: http://leerburg.com/952.htm
volume #1, #2, and #3.
Very nice study.
If my dog isn't learning, I'm doing something wrong.

Hello Melissa, thank you for your post.
That would be a good book about dog behavioural problems for the average dog owner.

Of the books I've loaned out over the years the ones that have lead to a reduction in phonecalls about the latest things the dog dug up, ate, ran away from, freaked out about, etc has been Cesar's Way. It's a fairly easy read with alot of free follow up material available. It's also IMO less sensational than the show. I think Leerburg sells it.
If they go the DVD route I like all of leerburg's stuff, and I also like as a contrast the stuff by Dr Ian Dunbar. The day netflix starts carrying dog training dvds will be a grand day for my wallet.
If you've got the coin, the three volume set Randy mentioned is as good as it gets. Just be prepaired for some serious reading. It's not "dog training for dummies".
