the worst one when I was doing tug work and makeing Erika work really hard for the tug, she got my hand once and I dropped the tug immediatly 'cuz it hurt like hell, she got me a second time with the same results, by the third time she was going for the hand everytime. took awhile to fix that.
I couldn't help but laugh at that one, Dennis! Wouldn't have loved to see the doggy grin on her face when she figured that one out! She was probably thinking "Dance, Monkey, dance!".
Mine does that all the time. If I go to bed before the man of the house, she spends the rest of the evening herding him up there. It involves attacking his ankles the whole way up the stairs...
I tried to teach Rockit a recall where she will come and stand between my legs. I tried this during a game of fetch. Now whenever I throw something for her, she comes racing back and bombs right through my legs, then turns around and comes back in for the next throw.
So, her standing between my legs = toy getting thrown. Now, if she has a toy in her mouth, she will come stand between my legs to try and get me to throw it. If I keep my legs together, she will either come around the back and try to jam her head in there, or come to the front and try to jam her way in, butt first.
And, she will do this to anyone who throws a toy for her. A friend of mine was sitting for her last year when I went to Las Vegas, and when I returned he said "You forgot to warn me about her coming back with the ball and bombing through my legs. I almost lost the family jewels!"
Most people think it's cute (she's small for a Mal) but one of these days she's going to knock someone down, I fear.
Ahh I can think of one I taught Keiko. I was sitting at my computer desk one day when I heard whining so I looked over my shoulder to see what the deal was. My puppy was standing in her crate, whining...with the door open, as though waiting for me to give her the release command from the crate. Somehow I'd accidentally taught her that ANY time she went in the crate (even if I hadn't told her to) I had to "free" her, not just when I opened the door to initially let her out. Thankfully, we don't have this problem anymore!
lol XD some of these are quite funny...I've got another stupid one...that I didn't catch until a few days ago...
I have this unspoken rule...if I come into my room at night and Ryuk is asleep on my bed I let him stay there with me for the night. If he gets up to greet me he goes into his crate for the night....
today I came into the room and he jumped on the bed and squeezed his eyes shut with a "uh...I was totally sleeping" expression.....he's done this three nights in a row now....
also, after watching me load up the only toy he hasn't eaten through ( one of these btw-> http://leerburg.com/1119.htm) for the third time I've given it to him the little stinker has figured out how to get the stuff inside without having to lick at it...he's figured out how to unscrew it in less than 10 seconds with his paws.....ARRRRGH!
