I adopted a Great Pyrenees/German Shepherd mix from a prison program. I'm quite happy with Yogi - he's generally a pretty good dog.
Here's the problem... he's 1 year old, 110lbs, and has a tendency to go ballistic when he sees ANYTHING on our walks (people, dogs, snowmen, etc.). He also barks in the house at anything (though we ordered a bark collar and it'll be delivered tomorrow), but we're getting rid of that habit pretty quickly. How can I work with him on not reacting like a banshee. I don't think he's truly aggressive because sometimes he'll stay in one place while barking really loudly (I can hold the leash with my pinkie and he doesn't pull on the leash), other times he pulls like a freight train. I've been using a prong collar on our walks. I'd like to be able to walk calmly around my neighborhood without terrifying everyone we encounter and also with out my neighbors getting annoyed at the loud barking at night.
How long have you had the dog? Have you gotten a chance to look around on the website about pack leadership etc...
If you haven't please do so and I gurantee you will get some answers to your questions there.
Start some basic ob with him if you haven't to reward the behaviors that you want and correct what you dont want (make sure he knows what you want first)

Do you know marker training?
I've had him about a month. I've been lurking around the forum and website since before I picked him up from the shelter. We did the pack leadership stuff, but I think I may need to start it all over again. I've also taken him to training classes, and prior to my adopting the dog he was trained as well - even passed his CGC. I've been using positive reinforcement when he is behaving properly.
I'm not familiar with marker training though.
This morning he was so reactive that when I stepped in front of him to block his view of the other dog he nipped my knee - not hard, but still... not a good thing.
