I'll also migrate him from Science Diet to Orijen, which he's already demonstrated he doesn't like (it's left at the bottom of his dish).

For a dog it's like going from sugary candy to carrot sticks because of all the artificial crap in SD. You might need to fast him a day to get him to eat it. Adding warm water and a tiny bit of wet food can also encourage them to eat.
That's weird. Never heard of a dog not eating Orijen. Usually they gobble it up so fast people give them too much, which can give them diarrhea b/c it's so rich in comparison to the lesser quality foods.
