LOL I love the comments about seasoning the poop...to funny. In all seriousness thought this has been an ongoing problem for well over a year with the older dog ( who developed this lovely habit at 10 years of age ) and since I got Ruby who I think saw Blossom doing it and thought it was a normal behaviour. Has anyone had luck with fennel seed added to the dogs food? I'm going to try plain yogurt to see if this helps (I read on this site that it may help with digestion)and I will continue to perservere with the poop and scoop routine.
Just go out with them when they go and then as soon as the pooping is over, call the dogs and give a treat and distract them from the poop, go inside and have fun. They learn to leave the poop and come to you. Of course you need to pick up the poop ASAP and dispose of it. (do it when they are not paying attention, so they don't think it is as special treat that you want for yourself....)
