One of my dogs got a fractured molar and since she is only 3 yrs old I am worried about any further damage and want to take her to a specialist. I contacted Animal Dental Clinic, got no reply so far and set up an exam appointment with Sunnyvale Vet Clinic for this Saturday.
Please let me know if you have any experience with these places or if you know a good veterinary dentist in SF Bay Area! In fact, I am considering switching to another vet after having had bad experiences with ours. Please let me know if you know a good vet!
This is an update: we took Connie to Animal Dental Clinic for her tooth fracture. Turned out the pulp wasn't exposed so they just sealed and polished the fracture site. The procedure cost us $800 including optional CHEM25+CBC. Their prices are surprisingly competitive, the blood tests are cheaper than at our vet. What impressed me most is that they are very supportive of raw feeding, discussed Connie's diet and gave advice on how best to incorporate bones in her diet (fresh chicken bones OK, previously frozen should be ground or crushed, don't allow to chew marrow bones). Dr. Mincheff took time to write me an email explaining test results:
Quote:
HGB 18.7 (H) Hemoglobin is mildy elevated meaning her blood can carry a lot of oxygen as it should. Again this may
MCV 78 (H) be a result of the raw diet and her high level of fitness. MCV is mean cell volume and it means her red blood
cells are large...also a result of her fitness.
