This could be a really dumb question but oh well...
I got some Honest Kitchen Prowl (for cats) at half price because its nearing the expiration date. My cats grudgingly gag it down if it sits there long enough, but are completely and utterly unappreciative of its quality.
So I thought about adding a couple tablespoons to my pup's raw food as a gravy. He's still underweight and I thought the extra fat and protein would help slowly put some weight on him. Is there anything in it that would make you guys hesitate? I don't see anything that raises a red flag. The only real difference between the Prowl and the Embark are higher fat and protein. The ingredients all look appealing to me.

What do you think?
I give THK as a gravy sometimes just to increase variety. I don't have Prowl in the house, but I'd have no problem at all with pouring a little of it over the dog's food. Plus, if you start with a tiny bit, you can accustom the dog to THK and you will always have an emergency travel or dogsitter food that requires nothing more than RMBs (or even meat) added to it per the package instructions. (Again, I have not bought Prowl, but the other THKs smell similar and have similar textures, and my dogs seem not to differentiate.)
BTW, does Prowl also give add-in instructions? Would that make your cats more appreciative?
Oh he already gets THK several times a week in case I have a brain-stutter and forget to thaw out his meat (which I am known for... Think Dory from Finding Nemo- its a wonder I survive!).
He does awesome on it. I like adding it for the veggie matter. That way I don't have to mess around with boiling or steaming or pulverizing veggies. All I have to do is throw in a meal of THK a few times a week and he gets all the veggies he needs.
The cats are hopeless and spoiled. They'd rather I just toss them a raw chicken back and be done with it. Oddly enough, they are totally fine with raw meat. I guess they just aren't too thrilled with the Prowl. I don't have the patience or willpower to fight them. lol
It would be great if the dogs started purring! It would balance things out around the house because one of my kitties can lay down and roll over on command! I'll have to upload a video one of these days!
