I thought of Erika while I was typing my post. Lol I would fear for my life if she was hungry and didn't feel like training. Eating the trainer would be the most obvious solution to her!

What about the advice given in the old Leerburg heeling video about giving treats- to push it torwards the dog into his mouth? It doesn´t seem to be uncomfortable for the dog (at least with my dogs and the amount of push I have done) and I have tried it and it works. I don´t have very grabby dogs though the youngster can hurt. But I know alot of the info in that video is outdated...

Does not work with my super-high food drive dog. I guess it would if applied with the rest of that system With her I was recommended either throw the treat (can't do any fine reward placement then) or work on presenting the reward correctly (size and texture matter) as shown in ME videos. Also tried teaching taking the reward carefully as a separate skill, kind of worked a bit, but our trainer did not approve fooling around with the reward.
