So my two year old gs Luna can hold it for 13 hours. Is this
normal? She is a lazy butt in the morning and is in no hurry
to go out, you'd think her eyes would be floating buy then, I
worry that that seems like an awfully long time to "hold it"
don't want any bladder infections or the like. So do you think
this is okay?

My Rotty Doesn't pee, very often, and is never in a hurry when i let her out to pee. I have to take her out on leash and instruct her to pee if i really need her too. If i don't she will normally just go lie down somewhere.
My dog seems fine and has been like that for years, but i can't tell you whether there is something wrong for sure ...i can just let you know your dogs not the only one. Maybe somebody else has some experience with the matter and could tell you more, i'll be watching this one in case i should be worried about it.
Meredith: Luna has a big drink of water around 8pm, wakes up
for another drink around 9:30pm. She has water available all day
though she would much rather play in it.(sometimes I think she's
part labrador).
Robert: Thanks maybe that is just the way she is. She's the first
shepherd Ive had that didn't wake me up in the middle of the
night to go out, just strange to me.
Norbert, our Rhodesian Ridgeback holds it FOREVER and then will stand peeing for five minutes....just this LAKE. He hates to go out in rain, or wet grass for that matter so he will hold it sometimes for a very long time. My DH won't force the issue. Usually I push him to go because of the UTI issues. Though he has never had one.
My GSD could hold it forever, too. She never got me up in the middle of the night, unless she was having trouble (and that was usually not number 1<g>.
I also think it has something to do with activity level. I'd take her out for the last time between 10-11 at nite, then the first time in the morning would be whenever we got up. Could be as late as 9AM, or as early as 5AM. She'd often go outside and screw around for a while before she'd actually pee. Heck, when she was 8 weeks old, she made it thru the nite after 4 nites. I often wish I had her fortitude.
